Philip Ober was a graduate of the Princeton Class of 1923. He went on to become an actor on television and film, having small roles in notable features such as From Here to Eternity and North by Northwest. He retired from the acting profession in the late 1960s and entered the diplomatic service, working as a United States consular in Mexico City until his death in 1982.
